ACCOUNTANT-GENERAL LEDGER | FINANCE – American University of Sharjah , Sharjah, UAE

Job Responsibilities
Perform audits on financial data to assure its accuracy and truthfulness.
Ensure that financial information complies with professional and regulatory standards.
Enter financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications and interdepartmental entries into the ledger on a monthly basis, as well as preparing reports.
Perform account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct.
Reconcile accounts with the general ledger.
Gather supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping.
Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
Prepare monthly journal entries.
Expense allocations and revenue.
Assist with balance sheet preparation and monthly account reconciliations.
Maintain and update fixed assets register.
File and maintain all journal entries for internal and audit purposes.
Assist in automating processes and procedures.
Assist with financial audits and UAE VAT filing.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications and skills required
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting.
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ACA/CMA).
Three years of relevant experience.
IFRS experience.
ERP systems experience.
G/L accounts reconciliation.
Knowledge and understanding of UAE VAT requirements.
Preferred qualifications
5 years of relevant experience
