Business Engagement Manager – Sales, Etihad Airways, UAE

A key role in our Commercial division has arisen to join the Enterprise Analytics team as a Business Engagement Manager.

Manage the relationship and service provided between Sales departments in Etihad Airways and the Enterprise Analytics Team. In this role, you will guide analytics resources to analyze and visualize Etihad’s enterprise data resources to answer questions posed regarding sales. You will work with other Business Partners- Engagement and the Analytics Managers to determine priorities and plan, manage and deliver tasks.

He/she will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively work across a multi-discipline environment. He/she will be encouraged to develop their skills and techniques for the analysis of data and problem solving, to stay up to date with industry leading Business Intelligence capabilities

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the leaders in Sales department to identify, understand the business questions we should be focusing on, working within the senior Enterprise Analytics Team to prioritize these according to business value and urgency
Identify the high level analytical approach (es) required, available analytical resources and tools
Assist analytical resources in planning, formulating, and executing their work, ensure outcomes and quality is satisfactory
Work with the business departments to aid interpretation
Feedback results into the team’s questions repository for potential future re-use
Manage the relationship with the business departments – understand their needs, work within their day to day processes to stay abreast. Monitor and advise on activities performed and quality achieved
Ensure business department needs for training and access to self-service tools are met
Aid in Enterprise Analytics team forward planning for resources including learning and development needs, development and technical investment to ensure that the Enterprise Analytics team is set up appropriately to respond in future (response times, quality, added value)
The person should ideally be willing to take up engagement responsibilities / projects / tasks in other areas as determined by business priorities
Participate in team development activities, encourage cross fertilization and skills development

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Diploma required (2 years or more)
Bachelor or Master’s Degree preferred
Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience ideally with combination of sales and analytics.
Aviation experience
Knowledge of Business Intelligence (user level) tools – Data Hub, Power BI, SAP Hana and SQL.
Additional qualifications in analytical disciplines and techniques an advantage
Good knowledge of Sales processes including Budgeting, segmentation

TRAINING & KNOWLEDGE
Prior to start of the year: Sales planning process (budgeting, segmentation)
During the year: Sales processes (levers to increase sales in various channels)
Post the year / quarter: Incentive calculation, other closing processes
Basic understanding of cost and investment (overheads, labor, fleet, aircraft)
Transformation (business process redesign, cross functional initiatives)
