Manager Cargo Route – Revenue Management, Qatar Airways, Doha

An exciting opportunity has come up in our Cargo Revenue Management department! We’re looking for an individual with expertise in data science that will support Cargo Revenue Management’s analytics, forecasting, development of prototype solutions using programing languages.

About the Job
Reporting to the Manager Cargo Revenue Management, this position will play a key role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and information that will be used in strategy development, and decision making within Cargo Revenue Management.

In addition; you will play a key role in managing and maintaining relationships with internal departments like pricing, IT, systems & processes, cargo sales, cargo operations and cargo network planning.

Responsibilities of the role:
Create tools (dashboards, reports, KPIs) that allow flight analysts and managers to take better informed decisions on flights and strategies.
Establish overbooking mechanism such as methodology, tools, reporting/tracking
Drive improvements in the revenue management systems by building forecast and optimization engines that are responsible for creating capacity outcomes
Drive the continuous improvement of revenue management’s analytics infrastructure.
Lead the data analytics functions of Cargo Revenue Management
Develop logic and structure for existing and new reports used by Revenue management
Provide Route managers with analysis on department KPIs
Establish baseline for metrics such as capacity, and capacity spoilage and identify levers that positively influence performance on flights/routes.
Assist in identifying new KPIs and predictive KPIs for the department
Develop customer segmentation and profiling related to customer behaviors.
Liaise with MIS and Systems and Processes teams to ensure required reports are developed and distributed automatically and on schedule.

About You:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Operations Research, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience
An aptitude for logical analysis, problem identification, and problem solving as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
Ability to learn and use computer-based tools and programming languages to implement solutions is required
Experience solving large-scale problems and familiarity with the airline industry are a plus
Working knowledge of SAS, R, Python, Java, or other relevant programming languages is considered at asset.
