The College of the North Atlantic – Qatar is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Associate Vice-President, Academic Quality. Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic, the Associate Vice-President, Academic Quality must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to provide leadership in all the academic affairs of the college and fully implementing the College’s mission and vision.

Within this transformation, the Associate Vice-President, Academic Quality will ensure Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) measures are put in place at a variety of levels to ensure program standards are of the highest TVET quality.

Duties & Responsibilities:
This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will provide leadership and management in support of the Office of the VP Academic as related to applied research and innovation, teaching and experiential learning, program development, quality and accreditation, and advanced learning technologies and other related activities within the academic quality areas of CNA-Q.
Candidates should have an outstanding record of industry experience in academic quality and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Associate Vice-President, Academic Quality. The successful candidate is responsible to contribute to the formulation and implementation of CNA-Q’s strategy, and to lead the development of academic quality policies and CNA-Q’s Teaching and Learning Framework. Candidates will implement academic quality and accreditation standards and provide leadership for the incorporation of applied research within CNA-Q’s curriculum. Responsibilities also include collaborating with Executive and Senior Management to develop new credit and non-credit programs and manage the process of new program concepts and feasibility studies, including market analysis of program development proposals. Candidates will also coordinate with Academic Operations to ensure CNA-Q satisfies program accreditation criteria.

As an integral member of Deans’ Council, the Associate Vice-President, Academic Quality will collaborate with various committees to review academic policies, program revisions, and other matters relating to academic affairs and promote innovation in curriculum development, technology adoption, and student learning outcomes assessment. Responsibilities also include to provide support in curriculum development and review, new program development (and to manage the program development), and the program vetting and approval process.
Candidates will provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates to contribute to the development of employees and oversee the establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Candidates will also collaborate with Human Resources to contribute to the development of workforce plans for the Academic Quality Division and must have excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, delegation, and communications skills as well as the ability to act as a mentor to team members.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized, accredited institution.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a relevant discipline.
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English language is required; bilingual in English and Arabic language is preferred.

Other Required Skills:
Highly motivated and innovative individual with an outstanding track record of leadership and management in a post-secondary institution. Demonstrated experience in academic quality and accreditation processes and best practices. Strong leadership skills with a desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required. Effective Strategic Planning is required. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time-management is essential. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times. Effective resource management is essential. Commitment to positive relationship-building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organizations is required. Knowledge of accreditation processing and pedagogy is required. Knowledge of research methodology and management is required. A Commitment to ongoing training and continuous professional development is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English language is required; Arabic language is an asset.
