DRIVER – New Mowasat Hospital , Kuwait

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Transports sick or injured persons by motor vehicles of up to 1 ½ ton rated capacity.
Carries/ assists patients into and out of vehicle in a manner to minimize the aggravation of patient’s condition with or without the use of a stretcher.
Shows tact and sympathy in dealing with various patients and shows judgment in moving patients.
Improvises stretchers when necessary and assists in administering first aid when appropriate/required.
Drives ambulance in shortest period and avoids sudden motions detrimental to patients during emergency.
Reports any identified need to the Nursing Supervisor on duty or as directed by the Department Head/ in-charge.
Checks oxygen cylinder on a regular basis and reports to Bio-Medical Engineer for replacement as necessary.

Ensures replenishment of ambulance medical supplies and regular check by the ER/ICU department.
Replaces dirty linen after each trip and disinfects stretcher.
Keeps the vehicle clean & in an orderly condition and makes minor repairs and adjustments. Checks oil pressure & level, gasoline, water in battery and radiator, and tire pressure.
Recognize electrical and mechanical faults and report to the Admin Supervisor.
Report any case of accident, injury or damage of vehicle to the Admin Supervisor and obtain police report for carrying out the vehicle repairs and insurance claims.
Observes vehicle scheduled maintenance programs and reports major repairs to the concerned department.
Maintains records of all activities both transport and maintenance transactions.
Attends all other transportation errands in the hospital (obtaining Infection Control Reports and submitting samples and specimens for testing, obtaining baby birth certificates, delivery & collection of MOH documentations and reports from MOH centers. Collect blood units from Kuwait Blood Bank and deliver to Lab as & when requested, collect emergency medication from other hospital and deliver to Pharmacy, collect postal letters / packages from post office twice every week & deliver to HRD).
Pick up new staff from the airport as and when requested by HR / Admin Supervisor.
Prepares reports indicating transports and calls to and from Hospital to other facilities and vice versa as required.

Makes trips for delivery of packages, mail or other activities as required for Hospital operation.
Dress professionally and in accordance with company’s dress code.
Maintains strictest confidentiality.
Responds to requests for unscheduled pickups or drop offs with approval of Admin Supervisor.
Accepts other assignments as directed or requested.
