Job Description
Initiate and develop radioactive waste disposal facilities siting program in accordance with regulatory requirements and best industrial practices.
Activity: Site Selection for Radioactive Waste Disposal Facilities

Responsibility:
Perform regional mapping and site screening to identify potential sites to host radioactive waste disposal facilities.
Develop siting criteria to ensure alignment with performance and safety parameters.
Investigate potential sites by developing site characterization plan and determining natural and demographic disposal site characteristics in accordance with the national legal and regulatory frameworks.
Conduct site investigation studies to obtain site-specific information and establish characteristics and ranges of parameters of a site hosting radioactive waste disposal facilities.
Provide siting inputs to develop safety case and site-specific waste acceptance criteria.
Activity: Management of Site Selection, Investigation and Characterization Data
Responsibility:
Maintain and update comprehensive site description includes additional information over and above geoscientific and environmental data to support decisions on site selection, license application and site confirmation.
Manage and keep record of all data and analytical work of site investigation and selection process
Activity: Radioactive Waste Management Disposal Facility Licensing Requirements

Responsibility:
Provide the support to apply of a license for siting a radioactive waste repository (facility).
Liaise with Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi (EAD) regarding development of the UAE waste disposal facility siting program
Ensure compliance with all regulation associated with siting and disposal of radioactive waste requirements.
Provide response and review to relevant requests from Nuclear Regulator such as RAIs, RFIs related to license application including relevant environmental requirements.
Activity: Stakeholder Engagement

Responsibility:
Engage with UAE government and relevant stakeholders to establish the national radioactive waste management program disposal facility
Provide the support and input for the RWM Division input for the Radioactive Waste Management Working Group.
Effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationship.
Prepare and present to relevant stakeholders the progress of radioactive waste management program.
Activity: HSE, Security & Continuity of Operation

Responsibility:
Implement HSEMS requirement; properly plan and control work activities for ensuring safety; asses HSE risks of both routine and non-routine activities; take appropriate corrective and preventive actions to mitigate any immediate or future risks; ensure employees receive appropriate training and information and comply with ENEC HSE policy, procedures and instructions; maintain Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE); solicit employee feedback on HSE; utilize opportunities to learn about ways to ensure/ improve safety.
Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission-critical activities.
Activity: People Management

Responsibility:
Manage the effective achievement of organization’s objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.
Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.

Responsibility:

Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Geology
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in siting nuclear/waste management facilities

Technical Competency:
Knowledge in the Sciences of Geology, Geochemistry and Hydrogeology
