BOP experience in Nuclear Power Plant and Supervisory exprience are essential for this role.
Lead the implementation of a system engineering approach to asset management in order to address medium-term and long-term issues, and ensure the overall health of the plant’s monitored systems, including; Balance of Plant systems (BOP), Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS), Electrical, and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) systems.
Manage system health and performance for assigned systems to improve plant system reliability and effectiveness.
Establish system performance monitoring, system walk down, and system health evaluation and report results to the management to ensure engineering staff are performing adequately.
Review and critique development of solutions for long-term system issues to improve long-term system reliability.
Develop section-level priorities for long-term plant equipment investment items to extend system life to improve or maintain system reliability.
Review the definition of the preventive maintenance items and frequency to optimize reliability and maintenance costs.
Review select maintenance activities important to plant safety and reliability to verify that they are performed according to proper procedures.
Validate cause determination and corrective action for maintenance preventable functional failures (MPFFs) and monitor systems, structures or components (SSCs) required by Maintenance Rule (MR).
Oversee support to the assigned system operations, maintenance and Engineering Rapid Response Team (ERRT), through:
Leading start-up testing (such as power ascension test) and performance test (PT) to identify any system engineering issues.
Leading assigned technical reviews on work orders important to safety and reliability to verify appropriate procedures are included and referenced.
Leading cause analysis for assigned equipment failure and identify trouble-shooting requirements to assist in developing repair and reliability improvement plans.
Leading operating experience (OE) reviews to ensure relevant material is being communicated.
Lead trouble-shooting teams on assigned systems and report results to the management to assist maintenance in determining problems.
Oversee system notebook for assigned systems to ensure their currency and accuracy.
Support the assigned design change and modifications to ensure consistency with system plans.
Oversee support of the management of assigned functional locations and Equipment master database to keep the databases current.
Oversee technical reviews on assigned procurement specifications to ensure useful and accurate specifications.
Oversee technical reviews on assigned plant equipment issues to ensure a system perspective is being provided.
Identify and direct system engineers to provide oversight on assigned maintenance activities performed by contractors when necessary to ensure contractor work is consistent with system requirements.
Review proposed outage and T-week work scope to provide a starting point for Cycle Managers and Outage Planners.
Oversee preparations for World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) peer reviews to ensure accurate and efficient communication.
Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
Support outage and/or the emergency response organization, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
Staff Training and Qualification
Develop management expectations and communicate with department to ensure high level of safety and reliability of BOP, NSSS, Electrical or I&C systems.
Monitor and instruct to improve staff performance.
Critically evaluate performance of individual staff to develop necessary training.
Verify training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills to ensure staff are properly trained and qualified to perform assigned responsibilities.
Provide training feedback on program effectiveness with evaluation of performance to enhance staff training and qualification program.
Provide input into the development of the Department’s systems and processes, as well develop and implement the Section’s procedures, identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Section, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.
Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, to meet the Section’s requirements and standards.

Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Division/Department/Section by the delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality services and a responsible environmental attitude.
Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission critical activities.
Manage the effective achievement of the Organization’s objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, and providing formal and informal constructive feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.
Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Science
