About the role:
In this interesting role, you will be responsible to provide guidance and operational coverage to ensure efficient and effective implementation of purchasing function with full compliance to regulatory framework. You will liaise with QACC departments regarding purchasing matters while also helping with manpower planning and roster management of subordinate staff.
To achieve success in this role you will need to:
Have great communication skills as well as negotiation skills as you will coordinate with QACC departments to resolve purchasing issues, which could be but not limited to Substitutions, out of stock, over stock, on hold shipments
Liaise with planning and Production team for all special events and do calendar management for occasions such as Eid, Christmas, New year etc. as required to ensure product availability
Ensure that all VIP requirements are catered for ensuring that the Amiri purchasing support team are aware of the product standards required and the cash processes.
Prepare technical and commercial reports
Follow Qatar Airways purchasing guidelines and policies to ensure strict compliance with internal regulatory framework.
Organize the initiation of purchase orders for overseas air shipments, sea and truck container shipments.
Communicate with local and overseas suppliers on order requirement changes (adjustments to shipment delivery schedule, ordered quantities, cancellations).
Liaise with QR procurement on all issues surrounding RFQ submissions.
Organize and Coordinator to create the product briefings and product specifications to facilitate for execution of competitive bidding process through RFQ.
Acts as deputy in the absence of Supply chain Manager and attends meetings as required.

You should have at least a bachelors degree and 5 years of job related experience. It is highly beneficial to have CIPS qualification or any other relevant qualification with experience in E-Sourcing activities, Knowledge of MRP systems and excellent negotiations skills. In addition, you will have the following job specific skills:
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
Aware of new trends and directions in the fine dining servicing industry
Planning and Supervisory Skills
Excellent spoken and written English.
Advanced computer skills.
Knowledge of MRP systems.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
Knowledge of Arabic language will be a plus.
