BRIEF DESCRIPTION

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The Department of Chemistry is an academic unit within the College of Arts and Sciences comprising some 25 faculty members and laboratory staff. The Department offers a BSc in Chemistry (with tracks in Environmental, Materials and Forensic Chemistry) that was launched in August 2017. The department is also responsible for teaching chemistry to students majoring in engineering disciplines as well as those pursuing the KU Pre-Medicine Bridge program. JOB REQUIREMENTS
The department invites applications for faculty positions at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer rank. A Master’s degree in Chemical Science (not a PhD) is required together with three years (eight years for a Senior post) teaching experience, preferably in higher education.
The post holder will teach Chemistry in mainly introductory and/or freshman levels. There is no expectation that independent chemistry research will be conducted, although an interest in developing and applying recent research in chemical education will be an advantage.
