Overview
Painter performs CARC/Non-CARC painting on a variety of light and heavy tactical wheeled & ground support equipment. Prepares internal/exterior surfaces as required to remove rust/unserviceable paint coatings. Applies Pre-treatment, Primer & Paint as required to meet applicable standards. Mixes and applies paints of all compositions. Handles & Disposes of Hazardous Materials IAW rules & regulations.

Performs CARC/Non-CARC painting on a variety of light and heavy equipment, such as tactical wheeled, track, artillery, & ground support equipment (IAW applicable Army regulations/Technical manuals). i.e.; masking/taping, painting, de-masking/touch-up, stenciling, ground guiding/movement of light & heavy equipment/ground support equipment.
Perform Corrosion Prevention Control as required to restore military equipment to applicable standards. Prepare vehicle/equipment surfaces for primer/ paint by removing rust, unserviceable paint/primer coatings to include pressure washing, chipping, sanding, sandblasting.
Maintains paint room and sets up, adjusts and performs minor maintenance on painting equipment/paint booth.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
Three years of (Chemical Agent Resistant Coating) painting experience of various tactical wheeled, track, & ground support equipment. To include painting of Camouflage Paint Patterns & Military Vehicle Stenciling Techniques.
Proficient in the use of all required respirators & Personal Protective Equipment.
Experience in Hazardous Material Handling & Disposal.
Possess or be able to acquire/maintain Government Drivers License.
Proficient in the use of Army Technical Manuals.
Proficient in Paint Booth, Paint Gun, Paint Pot, Paint Shaker operations/maintenance.
Skills:

Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers.
Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
Highly proficient in English, both verbally and written.
Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets reports and documents.
Working Environment:
Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
Work may require heavy lifting up, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
