Paralegal – Brunel , Qatar

About this role:
Gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other data;
Keeping law library up-to-date by monitoring legal volumes;
Takes dictation and transcribes materials from shorthand or written manuscripts into typed drafts for supervisor’s review and correction. Types and proofreads letters, reports and tabulations, and passes to supervisor for review and signature. Arranges copying, dispatch and circulation as appropriate;
Receives incoming mail of assigned department or division, sorts and prepares routing according to subject matter, and personally handles routine correspondence by preparing draft replies or obtaining information, for supervisor’s review. Identifies related past correspondence and attaches to received notes, memoranda and letters, for review by appropriate personnel;
Follows up on instructions from supervisor involving clerical work to draft replies or to act on incoming mail. Reports action to supervisor or advises of difficulties encountered.
Maintains follow-up files for the supervisor and brings forward items, as appropriate, when action is
Files correspondence and other records related to the activities of the department or section, maintains files in a neat and orderly manner and locates and retrieves items from filing as requested;
Serves as the administrator of the documents under the custodian of the Legal Department and maintaining them in a paper or electronic filing system. This includes scanning, uploading, ensuring document integrity, entering and updating appropriate data fields and overseeing user access rights;
Assists in the preparation of periodic progress reports on the department activities;
Compiles and submits newsletters regarding new laws, regulations, decisions and legal articles and other data;
Handles regulatory affairs related activities including obtaining and renewal of licenses and permits, submits for review by supervisor, submits the approved forms to concerned bodies and follow up till the issuance of the required licenses and permits.

What you need to bring:
Law degree or paralegal certification program of education and training or an associate degree in paralegal studies;
5 to 8 years of experience in legal work in a top tier national/international law firm or in energy sector;
Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic and English;
Proficient with Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Power Point etc.;
Excellent organizational skills;
Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment;
Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment;
Office administration experience
