Job Description
The College of the North Atlantic – Qatar is inviting applications for the position of Part-Time English as a Foreign Language Instructor in the Foundation Studies department.

The beautiful and culturally progressive State of Qatar is home to a robust TVET higher education institution, College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q). Established to meet the ambitious and visionary goals of the State of Qatar, CNA-Q is a partnership between the State of Qatar and the College of the North Atlantic in Canada. CNA-Q, a national technical college, fills the State’s need for graduates who have applied technical training in their fields of study.
The state-of-the-art campus hosts around 600 staff and 3000 students. CNA-Q is the third largest post-secondary institution in Qatar, offering 34 advanced diploma, diploma, and certificate programs in a range of technical areas including Business Management, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Trades, Health Sciences, and General Education. In September 2020, the College started offering its first Applied Bachelor Programs, which provide a high-quality mix of theory and applied analytical vocational and occupational skills and competences, coupled with career-oriented, practical education and training. This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will assist the College in achieving its mission and vision by developing technical, academic and occupationally-aligned courses and programs, delivering quality instruction in the associated area of specialization, and supporting learning and research consistent with the principles and goals of an institute of applied sciences and technology.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Candidates should have an outstanding record of teaching experience, and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Part-Time English as a Foreign Language Instructor at the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar. Responsibilities include:
Developing course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, instructional materials and assessments to create an optimum learning environment in alignment with evolving professional scopes of practice and industry requirements.
Delivering instruction to maximize student development and retention, employing a variety of teaching and development strategies to meet diverse student needs.
Demonstrating a command of educational best practices within the discipline by aligning learning assignments within practical industry-relevant contexts.
Maintaining accurate records of student progress and attendance and provide prompt feedback, recording grades and attendance within established deadlines.
Learning, using and recommending educational technologies and resources to enhance learning experiences for students.
Preparing high-quality learning support materials using the College’s LMS (D2L) to engage learners.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in TEFL or a relevant field from a preferred educational institution.
Certificate, Diploma (e.g. Post-secondary Education, Adult Education or Vocational Education). e.g., CELTA, Delta, TESL, TESOL.
3+ years teaching experience in an educational institution where students’ first language is not English.
Experience in curriculum development and student assessment.
Demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills.
