You will be joining the Real Estate (RE) team and will be based in Dubai and partaking in managing the regional real estate agenda across an extensive and growing portfolio. You will join as the regional lead for our industrial and logistics real estate projects across the region, ranging from greenfield developments, lease acquisitions and negotiation while also taking part in developing the strategy together with the local product owners and the global real estate team.
The global real estate strategy targets significant growth within Contract Logistics but at the same time securing efficient and effective real estate assets for our business and colleagues. Typical projects in CREM include finding the right strategy for our assets (lease, own, develop), investments, divestments, lease acquisitions, project development, project management, and space optimization.
The candidate will join the team as Regional Category Manager for our Industrial and Logistics real estate and will be responsible for the development of this role both internally in RE and in the Maersk organization. Thus, previous experience within Corporate Real Estate, Industrial and Logistics category is a must. The role entails a regional scope of the Maersk warehousing sector and requires participation in the development of a structured and competitive strategy.
In RE you will be part of a team based in Dubai and Copenhagen, but equally important you will belong to a local/regional procurement team and will be fully integrated with the business and the product organizations.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Developing, participating, and executing on the RE warehouse agenda, and support the ambitious growth strategy for this category
Manage regional transactions and project roll-outs incl. securing development/construction financing
Be the key link between the central real estate function and the local execution of real estate projects
Coordinate activities and implementation of new processes between regional and global functions to ensure governance
Take part in delivering key logistics solutions to our customers
Regional Supplier Relationship Management of large market players
Engaging a large community of stakeholders, often at senior level, both internally and externally
Playing an active role contributing to the overall Maersk Real Estate Strategy
Deliver on profit and savings targets on leased and owned properties

Who we are looking for
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with:
Minimum 5 years of real estate experience, preferably of a global nature in the industrial and logistics category.
Multinational corporate and/or warehousing experience will be especially noted.
A legal, finance or business-related education; maybe combined with a real estate related degree/designation like CoreNet MCR or MRICS.
You need to possess refined communication and interpersonal skills. You get excited by taking an active part in transforming our organization to further support our customer’s needs. You are open-minded and you challenge both your surroundings and yourself, in order to continuously improve and reach the next level within Corporate Real Estate. You have a strong personal drive and you will take an active part in the execution needed.
You are good at solving complex business problems in a structured and analytical manner, e.g. via project management and negotiations. You can conduct deep financial analysis and effectively communicating the conclusions, e.g. making executive summaries of possible strategies for presentation to senior management.
