The College of the North Atlantic – Qatar is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Research Assistant. Reporting to the Academic Manager, Applied Research and Innovation, the Research Assistant must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Department in fully implementing the College’s mission and vision.

The beautiful and culturally progressive State of Qatar is home to a robust TVET higher education institution, College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q). Established to meet the ambitious and visionary goals of the State of Qatar, CNA-Q is a partnership between the State of Qatar and the College of the North Atlantic in Canada. CNA-Q, a national technical college, fills the State’s need for graduates who have applied technical training in their fields of study.
The state-of-the-art campus hosts around 600 staff and 3000 students. CNA-Q is the third largest post-secondary institution in Qatar, offering 34 advanced diploma, diploma, and certificate programs in a range of technical areas including Business Management, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Trades, Health Sciences, and General Education. In September 2020, the College started offering its first Applied Bachelor Programs, which provide a high-quality mix of theory and applied analytical vocational and occupational skills and competences, coupled with career-oriented, practical education and training. Duties and Responsibilities:
This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will provide support for the College’s applied research projects and partners, to enhance, develop, promote and deliver best practices in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Qatar.
The successful candidate will establish and maintain a data management system for research projects, while providing assistance with conducting research activities, including planning, organizing, conducting, and communicating research studies within the overall scope of a research project. S/he will prepare communications strategies, meeting documents, bilingual correspondences and other documentation, as required by the Academic Manager, Applied Research and Innovation.
The successful incumbent will research back up work, coordinate survey development and implementation, design sensitive data collection processes, contribute to research papers, and undertake other tasks as required by the Office of Applied Research and Innovation.

Education and Certifications:
Master’s degree in research or relevant discipline is required.
Minimum two years’ experience in research is required
Previous experience in research laboratory and practices is preferred
Fluency in written and spoken English language is required
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is required

Other Required Skills:
A professional nature with proactive attitude to work is required, good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively is essential. Analytical thinking and problem solving, with research expertise is required. Candidate should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English and Arabic is required.
