Reservoir Simulator Code Development Engineer – Aramco , Dhahran, Saudi Arabia

We are looking for a Specialist Engineer to work with the Strategic Modeling Technology Division to initiate and conduct theoretical and practical research in the development of reservoir simulator codes individually and/or along with a team utilizing the latest in scientific programming languages. The Saudi Aramco Strategic Modeling Technology (SMT) provides an environment for creativity and innovation in the upstream sector by creating new opportunities to find, develop, and produce hydrocarbon resources, developing cost-effective solutions to meet Saudi Aramco’s unique upstream challenges. Strategic Modeling Technology is organized into the following technology teams: Advanced Reservoir simulation Technology Team, Production Simulator Development Team and Advanced Research & Development Teams. SMT is responsible for developing the next generation reservoir simulator and Basin simulators for Saudi Aramco to support recovery and discovery. Highly motivated and team-oriented personnel are needed to met our goals.

Key Responsibilities
You are required to perform the following:
Develop and maintain code for Black Oil and/or Compositional reservoir simulators.
Generate new ideas and projects, and contribute substantially to existing efforts.
Mentor young professionals. Provide expert training and teach technical in-house courses and workshops/forums.
Be involved with national and international professional societies. Should be able to communicate and steer practical research in various international Research & Development organizations.
Prepare technical papers for professional societies local and/or international technical meetings, conferences, forums and workshops.

Minimum Requirements
As a successful candidate, you
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science, a higher degree of Master’s or PhD is preferred.
Have at least 5 years of combined experience in the oil industry, academia and/or government employment related to coding reservoir simulators.
Must have a strong background in fluid mechanics, mathematics and physics.
Should have an extensive knowledge and experience in modern computer programming languages such as C++ and FORTRAN 90. Also, background in parallel programming environments is preferred.
Have excellent research skills supported by publications, presentations, patents, professional awards and honors, and professional society activities.
