Senior Contracts Engineer – Nesma , Jeddah , Saudi Arabia

Job Description
Accountable for the timely and thorough review of commercial agreements with 3rd parties (bid documents, contract documents, MOUs, subcontract pre-qualifications and agreements, etc.)
Attend contract negotiation meetings with 3rd parties for commercial agreements (contract documents, LOIs, subcontract agreements, etc.)
Ensure that Nesma’s interests are safeguarded, provides recommendations to the concerned Division (Operations or Corporate Development) as needed, and drafts such contracts based on Nesma’s requirements
Provide support for the administration of change orders and claims (contract interpretation, advice on how to best approach issues with the client, substantiation of the change order or claim, participation in negotiations with the client or 3rd party, participation in dispute resolution forums, etc.)
Monitor Nesma’s contracts, its obligations to 3rd parties, and advises the Chief Contracts & Legal Officer as needed
Provide contract interpretation advice to all Nesma organizational units
Follow-up on regulatory developments of concern to Nesma and their impact on Nesma’s commercial and contractual commitments, in the KSA and abroad
Develop and institutionalizes Nesma’s contractual legal know-how and capabilities
Advise on pursuing legal action against 3rd parties (e.g. in case of bad debts)

Skills
Good knowledge of General Conditions of Contract for Civil works, FIDIC conditions of contract (FIDIC).
Has strong negotiation and mediation skills
Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts
Able to work productively independently and as part of a team
Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem solving abilities

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Engineering with 5-8 years’ experience in contract management
MBA or other advanced degree (s) in Contract Management desirable
