Lead in conceptualizing, creating, improving and maintaining the accuracy and quality of IsDB written communication content to convey various developments to the internal and external stakeholders. Coach, mentor and develop the team to boost the employee engagement level that will lead to achieving the strategic objectives of IsDB.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of strategy, budget and business plans for the Communication Division.
Contribute to the development of Communication Division’s policies and procedures in alignment with the IsDB’s strategic objectives and global best practices and ensure that every stakeholder follows the same.
Research, write and commission well-written and up-to-date content for use across all IsDB communication channels and external outlets.
Responsible for speechwriting for the President including, but not limited to, talking points, key messages, fact sheets, media Q&As, opinion pieces and speaking notes for IsDB leadership
Ensure all communications output meets business objectives and priorities and is consistently on-message.
Fact check copy for accuracy and consistency across markets and teams.
Develop relationships with third parties, e.g. freelancers, translators or agencies, and manage additional resource as required.
Lead and develop the IsDB’s tone of voice, partnering with senior colleagues in the marketing and communications division.
Lead the development and reformatting of content for use across multiple channels, for instance media, social media and digital, supporting fully integrated marketing communications campaigns.
Maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders to source content and key information for use in speeches.
Keep up to date with latest news from Islamic Finance and global development, including announcements, opinion sharing and trends, in order to identify relevancy and opportunity for IsDB thought leadership.
Keep abreast with the latest trends in content development / management and share the same with colleagues in IsDB.
Support the Division Manager in managing the performance and resources of the Division through delegation of authority, setting stretch objectives and providing regular feedback on results at a department level, promptly addressing areas of underperformance.
Monitor and assess the skills and capabilities of the Division, and determine the actions needed to increase the Division’s impact.
Support filling in key capability gaps through capacity development and recruiting efforts.
Coach, mentor, and develop the direct reports and the top talent/high potential staff.
Act as a role-model for the Division’s staff in issues related to IsDB’s values and leadership competencies and provide direction and support in times of change.
Academic and professional qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication or related field
.Minimum 10 years of experience in communication role in a global organization, of which 3 years in the managerial / supervisory role.
Demonstrated track record of high-quality editing and copywriting

Good understanding of external and internal communications.
Must be able to adapt content for range of audiences, from formal speeches to social media.
Exceptional writing skills with a commitment to the highest quality standards.
Confident communicator who can advise and counsel senior stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a wider communications team, sharing your insights across the team.
Amplify speech content through repurposing it for different channels, including blogs and Op-eds for media.
Able to shape and influence external narratives based on one’s insights and exposure.
Good understanding of strategic communications priorities in order to communicate key messages
