Senior Nuclear Performance Improvement Specialist – Nawah Energy Company , UAE

Job Description
Develop, design and evaluate NPI programs, processes, procedures and tools for Corrective Action Program (CAP), Investigation, Causal Analysis, Trending, Human Performance (HU), Self-Assessment (SA), Benchmarking (BM), Operating Experience (OE), Nuclear Safety Culture (NSC), Knowledge Management (KM), Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics, and communication and engagement. Implement and support corporate and central functions in the implementation of NPI programs in accordance with the Central Governance Model for the NPI Function, while ensuring standardization across Nawah’s nuclear organization; and in compliance with UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and other related industry standards.
Nuclear Performance Improvement
Develop and maintain NPI program requirements, procedures and processes for Corrective Action (Program (CAP), Investigation, Causal Analysis, Trending, Human Performance (HU), Self-Assessment (SA), Benchmarking (BM), Operating Experience (OE), Culture of Safety (CoS).
Implement and support corporate functions in the implementation of NPI programs in accordance with the Central Governance Model for the NPI Function.
Develop organization-wide NPI program performance monitoring tools including standard KPI structure and performance criteria to provide insights on organizational performance.
Interface with inspectors and assessors for programmatic or corporate level assessments and provide support for key regulatory inspections and industry assessments, as and when required.
Oversee and support NPI training programs, contents in accordance to conduct of training, to enhance organizational NPI

Skills and knowledge.
Provide assistance in NPI programs’ assessments performed by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and other regulatory organizations.
Review and prepare technical presentations, graphs and documents to assist in decision-making and NPI task planning.
Corrective Action Program (CAP)
Develop and maintain CAP program requirements including procedures, policies, tools and software in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Develop CAP program performance monitoring tools, including standard KPI structure and performance criteria to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Develop reports for monitoring CAP activities and submit to NPI management for review.
Contribute to the development and distribution of periodic trending reports to enable decision-making.
Communicate with management via reports and structured feedback and via the CAP Help Desk with all employees.
Establish standard Action Request (AR) screening requirements and monitor Plant implementation to ensure standardization across the organization.
Liaise with CPO on programmatic changes to Deficiency Notification Report (DNR) process (electronic DNR system), as and when required.
Liaise with Commissioning Oversight for programmatic issues associated with Startup Work Requests (SWR) for units under commissioning, as and when required.
Conduct pre-screening activities and prepare reports for Corrective Action Review Boards (CARB) and Action Request Screening Committee (ARSC) for the corporate and central functions.
Process Action Reports (ARs) for assignment or re-screening as needed in accordance with screening results.
Evaluate the review, assessment and provision of structured feedback on Corrective Actions, as well as, Causal Evaluations, including Basic Cause Evaluations (BCEs) and Apparent Cause Evaluations (ACEs) to improve accuracy and completeness.
Support, as necessary, site event response and subsequent Root Cause Analysis RCA mentoring upon availability
Perform the peer review of CAP documentation, reports and information.
Facilitate Departmental CAP Champion meetings to improve meeting effectiveness.
Reinforce CAP health behaviors to ensure that Nawah function demonstrate the correct behaviors, ownership and demonstration of CAP Program

Skills
Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree in related Business, Science, Administration, or Technical field of study.
5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred
2 years’ performing CAP activities within a nuclear facility.
2 years’ experience implementing OE in nuclear facility.
2 years’ experience implementing HU/SA/BM in nuclear facility
Professional Certifications
Certified coach.
Certified causal evaluator.

Technical Competency
Understands HU/SA/BM tools and techniques.
Understands high hazard operations Understanding of CAP.
Knowledge of nuclear power Plant operations and maintenance.
Knowledge of INPO/WANO CR Trending Codes.
