Ship Contracts Analyst – Qatargas Doha , Qatar

Job Purpose
Provide input into the development, negotiation, execution, analysis evaluation and implementation of all LNG shipping related contracts and ensure completion of all tasks required to satisfy Qatargas obligations under those contracts.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
Certain tasks require immediate action to ensure smooth operations, requiring 24 / 7 availability, including national holidays.
Over 100 contracts, many with complex contractual terms need to be analysed and actioned with effective vendor interaction to assure Qatargas interests are protected.
Procurement P&Ps are often demanding in adherence.

Key Job Accountabilities – I
Procure Marine Fuel for the Qatargas fleet and ensure its delivery in line with the Qatargas Bunker Procurement Procedure. When required or assigned, serve as the primary point of contact for all Marine Fuel deliveries on a 24/7 basis.
Prepare, secure approval and issue Letters of Indemnity (LOI) in line with the Qatargas LOI Procedure for all Qatargas vessels. When required or assigned, serve as the primary point of contact for all LOI matters on a 24/7 basis.
Complete all tasks related to Qatargas obligations and compliance monitoring under applicable shipping related contracts and any subsequent negotiations or amendments including delivery / re-delivery notices, end-of-contract reconciliations, time charter performance warranty clauses, insurance verification, off-hire administration, bunker procurement terms, CWO terms and any other contracts under management of QG Shipping.
Nominate and ensure the prompt and efficient nomination of port agents to ensure that Qatargas LNG ships efficiently transit ports & canals.
Initiate, develop and ensure the approval and proper execution of Shipping-related Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Contract Work Orders (CWOs) in line with the Qatargas procurement process and TOFA.

Key Job Accountabilities – II
Prepare critical financial reports, including the Fleet Pooling reconciliation in accordance with the Fleet Pooling Agreement and associated procedure and ensure the free-flow of financial-related information to the appropriate individuals within Qatargas.
Review draft Sales & Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Time Charter Parties (TCPs) and Confirmation Notices (CNs) in line with existing procedures as well as any prevailing Qatargas operational and business requirements.
Maintain all documentation related to applicable responsibilities on SharePoint ensuring that information is up-to-date and available for easy access by managers and others in the Shipping Department.
Provide assistance in the development & execution of TCPs and with in-chartering & out-chartering activities. Provide analysis on LNG shipping. Provide input into shipping related projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration or shipping related discipline such as Marine Engineering
Knowledge and/or Experience
5 years of experience in shipping related field with strong understanding of shipping contracts, terminology and fundamentals OR strong contract management experience in another field.
Prior sailing experience and experience in contract performance reviews and claims settlement is desirable.
Experience in managing and negotiating contracts.
