Job Description
The College of the North Atlantic – Qatar is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Strategic Planning Specialist in the Institutional Excellence Department. Reporting to the Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance Manager. The Strategic Planning Specialist must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Institutional Excellence Department in fully implementing the College’s mission and vision.

Duties & Responsibilities:
This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will support in the development of CNA-Q’s overall strategy, translation of strategic objectives into an annual operational/plan, and monitoring of institutional performance on pre-established parameters.
Candidates should have an outstanding record of industry experience, and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Strategic Planning Specialist at the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar. The Strategic Planning Specialist is responsible to support the Institutional Excellence Department with the development of CNA-Q’s strategic and operational plans.
The successful candidate will keep track of the vision, mission and strategic plan for the College. Other responsibilities include conducting baseline assessments of initiatives and programs, conducting institutional reviews of the existing strategic and operational plans. Facilitating planning workshops for CNA-Q’s Schools and Departments to ensure smooth execution and monitoring of the strategic planning process.
The successful candidate will stay current with knowledge and leading practices relating to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and maintain up to date communication materials on the strategic and operational plans progress and outcomes to inform CNA-Q’s Board, Executive Management and all relevant stakeholders.
The successful candidate will develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), monitor changes in the strategy implementation process in line with the KPI’s; conduct environmental scanning and analysis to identify and assess the impact of governmental policies and initiatives, stakeholder needs, labour market trends, local, regional and international higher education trends. This will include preparing any relevant reports, dashboards and metrics to ensure operations are in line with strategy and KPI’s.
The successful candidate will coordinate periodic strategy reviews with CNA-Q’s leadership and relevant stakeholders and assist with the development of a prioritized portfolio of strategic initiatives that are required to support the delivery of CNA-Q’s institution-wide strategy. This includes keeping track of the vision, mission and strategic plan for the College, recommending updates/improvements based on changes in the market, community/student needs and other relevant factors.
The successful candidate will support in establishing clear and SMART actions and initiatives to enable successful implementation of the strategic plan and work towards aligning processes, resource plans and division/ department/ school specific goals with the institutional strategy.
The successful candidate will assist with the development of policies for CNA-Q’s Schools and Departments, in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders for the respective schools and departments.
The successful candidate will conduct research activities focused on the impact of governmental initiatives, higher education trends on CNA-Q’s strategy; and ensure findings are incorporated into the development of CNA-Q’s system-wide strategy.
The successful candidate will conduct benchmarking exercises and reports, and focus on positioning CNA-Q against peer organizations at local, regional and international levels with regard to higher education.

Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field
Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Strategic Planning or relevant field
Fluency in written and spoken English language
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is an asset

Other Required Skills:
Strong leadership skills with a desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management skill is essential. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times. Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organization is required. Advanced skills in strategic planning with demonstrated knowledge of performance analysis and reporting is required. A commitment to ongoing professional and self-development especially in the area of strategic planning and continuous professional development.
