Supervisor – Media Directing is the shift leader responsible for directing all gallery, outside broadcast, special events, special news coverage including critical zones.
You will orchestrates the production fusing technical and creative elements to produce on-air news and programmes. You will liaise with News Executive Producer on shift all day to day activities.
You are expected to design, develop and implement a format for new programmes, shows and news.
Direct all technical aspects of the studios and/or location productions, checking and switching between video sources, and taking full responsibility for the on-air output of the gallery during live news bulletins and/or pre-recorded programmes, including camera shots and graphics.
Ensure the technical output of the newsroom/studio meet the requirements of the News and Programmes
Work closely with newsroom and Creative team to determine and technically achieve the visual style of the channel’s news output
Liaise with Senior producers in the Newsroom to bring the output to the highest standards
Liaise with the engineering teams to ensure studio equipment is maintained regularly and functioning properly
Ensure highest technical standards are achieved for the channels output
Liaise with News Operations on OB productions
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:
Bachelor Degree in Film, Directing, Video Editing, Graphics, Media, Communications, or related field Diploma in related fields
A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in broadcast environment of which 5 should have been in a senior operational role in a News Production control room
Expert Knowledge on:
TV gallery work flows
Broadcast equipment including cameras, lighting, audio, graphics, teleprompt, vision switchers, newsroom computer systems
Broadcast production including MCR, Transmission, editing, media management, archives
