Position at Al Jazeera Media Network
Supervisor – Transmission will be responsible for broadcasting of all content on the channels platforms, including live content, programmes, commercial and interstitial material. As the Supervisor – Transmission you will have the ability to implement and troubleshoot operational in order to facilitate uninterrupted service to our audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and implement policies and procedures for the central transmission,
Handle the operations of highly technical and professional hardware and software tools to transmit content,
Monitor quality check of all program, documentary and interstitial content prior to acceptance into the channel rundown and playout systems,
Manage broadcast rundowns and playout systems,
Work with Al Jazeera’s media asset management (MAM) system,
Liaise with newsroom, programs, creative and documentary teams to ensure the correct content is accurately transmitted to Al Jazeera’s audience,
Work with newsroom, programs and operational teams, in particular the editing teams to highlight and to rectify any errors prior to sending content to playout systems,
Work closely with scheduling to ensure the transmission schedule is accurate and ready for transmission,
Coordinate with the studio teams as well as editorial team to ensure the handover from programming to news is seamless,

Other Responsibilities:
Amending and writing documents and procedures
Attending meetings with internal and external clients as required
Conducting performance appraisals for staff
Perform other duties relevant to the job as requested across the Al Jazeera Media Network

Education:
Bachelor Degree in Media, Film, Broadcast Operations, Communications, or related field Diploma

Experience:
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Broadcast Operations in a senior position leading a team, working within a file-based operational environment, and experience in live news and/or sports
