Typhoon Training Cell Technician Level 1 – BAE System , Saudi Arabia

JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor (PC) under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft (RSAF) and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. For such maintenance training, this role is responsible to train and examine PC and RSAF Typhoon technical staff in the ground handling, refuelling and flight servicing of the Typhoon aircraft system in order to ensure that continuing airworthiness and first line maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with BAE Systems Saudi Arabia SALAM Maintenance Organisation Exposition and associated Quality Management System

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Job Holder is accountable for the following:
Performing maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft.
Ensuring that all personnel engaged in activities in the Area of Responsibility follow the correct practices and observe safety precautions thereby complying with the requirements and limitations detailed in the Salam Support Safety Case Report.
Ensuring that no one is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk in the Area of Responsibility, as far as is reasonably practicable.
Performing maintenance activities in accordance with (IAW) a continuing airworthiness and maintenance governance framework
Perform good husbandry practices.
Perform FOD control measures as directed by management.
Comply with Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Error Management Systems.
Performing aircraft handling and flight line activities when required.
Training of Squadron (AGF) engineering personnel in the ground handling, fuelling and flight servicing of Typhoon aircraft.
Training of Squadron (AGF) aircrew to carry out flight servicing specifically the Aircrew Landaway Flight Servicing Schedule (ALFSS).
Providing extra training for personnel who fail to meet required standards.
Completing any other reasonable duties or requests made by appropriate line managers

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
The following qualifications and experience are essential for this post:
Essential
Must hold a Typhoon Q annotation in a relevant trade (ARM, Mech or AV)
Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
Must have successfully completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship or similar practical aircraft maintenance training programme delivered by a NATO air force or approved aircraft maintenance training provider.
Comprehensive experience working as a tradesmen conducting Line Maintenance on fast-jet aircraft on an operational military flying unit in a NATO air force.
Desirable
Requires an understanding of RSAF and RAF engineering operating procedures.
A background in the aircraft maintenance training environment.
Exposure to Typhoon QRA activity.

RECRUITMENT
The job holder should have the following background:
Currently working in an aircraft maintenance organisation conducting or supporting Line (Forward) Maintenance of military fast-jets
Demonstrable experience working as a certifying technician conducting Line (Forward) Maintenance on a busy, military operational flying unit.
Fully conversant with European Aviation Safety Agency aircraft maintenance regulations or military equivalents such as UK MoD Defence Standard 05-130.
Experience conducting Line Maintenance of aircraft in a Gulf Coast Country.
Significant experience in a training environment, with a minimum of three years of operation in the aerospace environment.
