You will be working as a Business Health Safety Environment (HSE) Specialist and will be part of Electrification Business area for Distribution Solutions Division based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will be reporting to the Country HSE Manager and will be responsible for contributing to improving Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance in the respective organization to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on the environment. Supporting the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge to offer solutions and advice. You will also be responsible to ensure effective risk management through HSE excellence along ABB’s value chain.
Implementing Policies and Standards. Ensuring areas of responsibility is audited according to program for audit. Assisting line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liability and how to fulfil their roles, according to local HSE law and ABB group policy, instructions, standards, behavioral safety and contractor safety are implemented in service workshops and field service jobs.
Assisting line managers executing programs for implementing and maintaining robust electrical competency and authorization framework for all service personnel interacting with electrical equipment, including approved service providers. (project, manufacturing and service).
Facilitating the service activity in planning process and risk assessment process with the adoption of Intelex ABRA (Activity Based Risk Assessment) tool and participating in regular electrical safety authority communications/meetings for maintaining currency with program.
Developing division specific database recording PICWs (Persons in Charge of Work) and ECAP (Electrical Competency and Authorization Program) assessment records and acting as electrical safety champion and represent Industrial Automation in cross business area collaboration.
Delivering training including ECAP, other electrical safety and other HSE related trainings with ownership of MyLearning training records.
Undertaking regular specialist electrical safety audits and training for ELDS service and workshop teams.
Monitoring HSE performance in service activities and developing methods to analyze HSE performance for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing division specific and business area behavioral safety programs.
Supporting the service, field service line managers and employees to accomplish objectives and targets by providing a systematic, disciplined, consultative approach by improving the effectiveness of risk management and control.
Identifying and sharing best HSE practices across the service network and field service units, supporting divisions in providing clear interpretations and adherence to ABB Way control standards along with contributing to incident investigations related to service activities or electrical incidents.
Reporting HSE Incidents. Feeding back on lessons learned and best practice from own unit and across ABB to management and employees. Reporting progress on implementation of ABB group sustainability objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ABB group, as required.
Engaging external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB’s HSE efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback. Cooperating with other functions, the Division and business partners to drive HSE performance.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics engineering. NEBOSH Diploma (mandatory).
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in health safety and environment with good technical knowledge of electrical systems.
Experience of implementation/maintaining of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) such as ISO 45001, ISO14001.
Candidate should carry valid driving license.
Knowledge of current HSE legislations in the country.
Knowledge of competency assessment and authorization process would be an advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
