Head of Business Continuity – Loss Prevention – Alshaya , Kuwait

Overview:
Responsible for developing, maintaining, managing and implementing the day-to-day functions related to Business Continuity Plans and Procedures to keep the Company functioning in cases of disruptive events such as natural disasters, crime and computer and human error, while managing Disaster Recovery operations within the Company. Responsible for conducting a detailed Companywide business impact analysis and risk assessment that includes IT systems, building facilities, personnel and supply chain.

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:
Liaise with the respective Business Functions and understand the division’s functionalities in order to identify the risk areas.
Identify and categorise areas that could cause a business interruption.
Conduct periodic vulnerability and security risk assessment of the assets of the company to identify points of vulnerability and points of failure and identify risk avoidance and mitigation strategies.
Accordingly develop and implement Plans and Procedures to ensure business continuity and recovery in cases of unforeseen circumstances.
Provide professional, specialised skills, including, Business Continuity Planning, Project Management, and Problem Analysis and Resolution.
Capitalise on business opportunities to refine processes to mitigate exposure during disruptions of service, and, possibly, improve day-to-day operations.
Assist Business Functions with assessment of potential business impact (Business Impact Analysis).
Design, develop and document Business Continuity Plans.
Recommend recovery strategies and options and assist with the implementation of recovery solutions.
Develop schedules for training / awareness for staff and coordinate business continuity plan exercises.
Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as requested, when a business disruption occurs.
Safeguard data processing operations by identifying potential problems that may result in interruptions to critical data processing operations.
Develop and Implement Disaster Recovery, Data Sensitivity, Library Management, Back-up and Recovery Plans and Procedures.
Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines while developing and implementing the Disaster Recovery Plans.
Report the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery status of business units to senior management.
Produce well drafted Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery reports to communicate observations, risk involved in the current processes and & its prospective impact, and subsequent recommendations.
