Responsible for all quality issues relating to food safety, product specifications and hygiene throughout Alshaya Food Services Division. Leadership of product recalls and compliance to reporting requirements of food safety incidents. Accountable for setting quality assurance policies, compliance procedures and audit measures within the guidelines provided by our Host Brands, Alshaya standards and relevant country laws. Accountable for ensuring compliance to critical brand standards in regard to environmental and sustainability requirements. Accountable for design and delivery of audit processes and reporting through local operational teams or external bodies. Responsible for customer feedback processes and dissemination of key messages of all aspects of brand performance. The primary contact for Host Brands on Quality Assurance, product quality and Brand Assurance, as well as cooperative work with Brand Managers, Other Quality Assurance Managers, Purchasing and Product Development.
The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:
Lead Quality and Safety Assurance activities necessary to achieve business objectives in the restaurants.
Develop quality management systems including HACCP and its prerequisite programs for stores.
Devise and manage the audit a process that ensures all products are received, stored and distributed in compliance with Host Brands, local market regulations and HACCP.
Interpret audit information and develop new restaurant processes as appropriate in order to improve performance.
Ensure that all appropriate measures to protect Brand safety and reputation are in place.
Maintain and improve the Quality Management System including HACCP and related procedures.
Accountable for QA KPI’s design and delivery.
Provide functional expertise and execute functional responsibilities.
Manage critical incident and product recall processes including leadership of crisis management.
Devise and provide training programmes for store partners in quality matters.
Identify gaps in quality and practical ways to bridge and eliminate those gaps.
Identify business critical information, make recommendations, communicate and facilitate solutions.
Devise a programme for internal store audits ensuring strict compliance with departments and Host Brands operating principles, procedures and standards.
Give feedback to management, facilities and operation teams regarding all relevant quality issues, hygienic store design to meet health regulations.
Report Quality performance trends to the Management team as well as to stores including major issues which could affect business performance.
Monitor and understand the Customer, market trends and competitor activity that should be adopted in order to gain competitive advantage.
Contribute to all aspects of process improvement through identification of equipment or process changes.
Research and develop process improvements through feedback from the restaurants and support centres.
B.S Degree in Food Science or Food Microbiology with 10 years of QA Managerial food experience.
HACCP knowledge & application is a must.
Experienced in food manufacturing or restaurants.
Extensive audit experience (preferred)
Familiar with best practice of food safety management.
Demonstrable understanding of Operations.
Ability to manage external auditors.
Ability to conduct food safety audits.
Ability to communicate at different levels within the business.
