Director of Marketing, College of the North Atlantic – Qatar, Doha

This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will lead and manage the effective development and implementation of CNA-Q’s Marketing and Public Relations strategy, business and college communication initiatives, in order to successfully promote CNA-Q’s services. The incumbent is responsible for all activities governing communications, public relations, events, marketing and branding strategy for the College.

Candidates should have an outstanding record of industry experience in marketing and public relations and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Director of Marketing. The successful candidate is responsible to contribute to the formulation of CNA-Q’s strategy and to lead the development of the Marketing and Public Relations business plan, policies, procedures and guidelines.

The successful candidate will be qualified to provide leadership in the creative development and implementation of CNA-Q’s integrated marketing and communications deliverables to support CNAQ’s brand and positioning. Responsibilities also include leadership of CNA-Q’s marketing and communications initiatives to advance the broader strategic goals of the institution and to oversee all interactions with the media.

The candidate will provide support and advice to Executives on messaging, content, and guide Senior Management on key strategic messages with various external stakeholders to ensure continuity and coordination and evaluate the effectiveness of existing and proposed strategies for marketing, public relations and communication activities and shift strategies and tactics as required.

The successful candidate will lead marketing and communications related to risk and crisis management, including establishing crisis communications policies and procedures and provide crisis management counsel to the Executive.

Candidates will maintain strong working relationships with media and creative agencies and monitor both existing and emerging issues that could affect the College’s brand and ensure CNA-Q is in a strong position to communicate its perspective, rationale and key messages to media and other key stakeholders.

The Director of Marketing will provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates to contribute to the development of employees and oversee the establishment of the Marketing and Public Relations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Candidates will also collaborate with Human Resources to contribute to the development of workforce plans for the Marketing and Public Relations department and must have excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, delegation and communications skills as well as the ability to act as a mentor to team members.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:

Masters degree in Marketing and Communications, Public Relations or related field required

Experience:

Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Marketing and Public Relations, or related field

4 years of experience managing multifunctional Marketing or Public Relations teams

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English language is required

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is required

Other Required and Desirable Skills:

A highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required. Demonstrable experience in leadership of Marketing and PR for an educational institution is desirable. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times. Effective resource management skillset is essential. Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation is required. Knowledge of Communications Planning and Execution is required. A Commitment to ongoing training and continuous professional development is desirable.

Candidates must demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills and fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
