As a Manager HR Payroll, you will oversee QR Group (QR, Subsidiaries, HIA) payroll & school fee claim processes, and ensure timely payment (in line with company contractual obligations) to Doha-based employees. You will develop and lead implementation of necessary documentation, governance, controls & reporting to monitor and ensure error free payment.
You will also be responsible for making sure that payroll & school fee claim procedures are executed in compliance with internal company policies, pay matrixes and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will ensure that all departmental procedures are up-to-date, and lead a team in carrying out the responsibility for monthly QR Group payroll preparation and school fee claim review/approvals
Other operational duties will include:
Implementing measures to ensure set-up of Core ERP / applicable IT systems is accurate for error free processing of payments to employees.
Proactive evaluation of improvement opportunities and strategizing / designing the automation of payroll and school fee claim processes to reduce manual touch points and increase department efficiency.
Leading a team to deliver efficient processes & controls resulting in accurate, timely, compliant and error free payments for Qatar Airways Group Doha based employees.
Monitoring department approved claims & payroll transactions for accuracy, including adjustments and resolving discrepancies.
Partnering up with Finance team to standardize controls adopted for payroll transactions between HR & Finance, and, for aligning of Payroll cut-off schedules.
Driving a continuous improvement culture across the team looking at processes, systems, and ways of working, incorporating external best practice.
Engage in critical review and analysis of current practices and identifying process improvements leading to best-practice operations.
Conducting audit check at the time of payroll closing, including review and analysis of payroll records to ensure compliance with agreements/contracts.
Ensuring compliance of payroll & school fees systems and procedures with internal company policies & approved pay structure (standard / variable allowances).
Implementation of automated controls and procedural controls that ensure accurate, timely, compliant and error free payments to employees.
Continuous assessment of people processes (i.e. organizational knowledge) & system processes for risks, and design mitigation plans to de-risk the department and ensure business continuity.
Regular evaluation of the department or team objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.

A successful candidate should possess the following experience and qualifications:
High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent with Minimum 9 years of job-related experience OR Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
Experience in leading payroll teams.
Strong proficiency in using Oracle.
Experience in managing complex payroll for different categories of employees.
Strong understanding of HR processes and data analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in systematic development of payroll reports indicating compliance, efficiency, on-time performance & volumes.
Experience in ERP system design and implementation of payroll policies and processes.
Solid knowledge of all aspects involved in the processing of company payroll.
Ability to manage set priorities, handle multiple responsibilities / work interruptions and meet deadlines.
Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
Must be process-driven and detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching expertise.
Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills.
Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
Preferred qualifications (Not essential but good to have)
Experience in an Airline Industry.
10+ years of experience in leading payroll teams for an employer with a minimum of 10,000+ employee base.
