Lead the planning andexecution of various communication activities in coordination with HBKU Communicationsto promote the college’s programs and initiatives, and improve the college’simage.
Oversee the development and implementation of CHSS communications sub strategy in line with the overall University Communications strategy
Responsible for monitoring CHSS internal and external communications materials in coordination with HBKU communication
Work with cross functional & technical teams and utilize available resources to research and measure CHSS’s media coverage, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve CHSS’ image
Maintain positive relationships between CHSS and the public and mass media, including marketing campaigns, press releases, brochures, website and social media content among other print and electronic media channels
Develop content for various communications channels and purposes in accordance to the communications procedures and brand guidelines
Draft, edit and deliver communication programs and projects including marketing and PR messages in Arabic and English
Draft, edit, proofread, and revise marketing, press material, and publications content, including press releases, white papers, executive bios, newsletters, web/social media content, and speaking proposals
Copyedit, proofread, and revise translated communication messages by CHSS’s and TII’s Translation and Training Center’s translation team
Review and approve translated communication material originated by marketing and PR to ensure that the meaning, tone, and flair of the original message was adequately captured
Conduct media outreach campaigns, develop story ideas, prepare briefing materials for CHSS artworks, media interviews, press releases, and public events in coordination with HBKU Communications
Initiate research media coverage and industry trends an develop fresh story ideas.
Develop communication project briefs and maintain the college events calendar.
Coordinate with CHSS management and HBKU Communications on developing processes, procedures, process optimization, technology and tools that enable CHSS to achieve its goals.
Act as a liaison and key focal point between CHSS and HBKU communication, and communication vendors for all assigned communication programs and projects
Coordinate press releases, social media, website content and other Marketing and PR-related material with an insight and flair for tailoring of original or translated messages so it has the highest and most positive impact on wide range of audience (locally, regionally, internationally).
Create workflows to deliver projects on-time, within budget, and at the highest quality standard.
Present the CHSS and TII publicly and support promotional and recruitment campaign for College and Institute.
Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevantfield & 2-5 years of relevant full-time work experience incommunication/marketing, preferably in higher education institutes
Experience in proofreading and copyediting in English and Arabic, including managing a team of professionals, vendors, and a large portfolio of services and clients.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Good understanding of various marketing activities, methods and tools used in educational institutions and how they are best deployed in a multi-cultural and international environment.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
Proficiency in graphic designing, and design tools MS Office applications.
Fluency in English and Standard Modern Arabic.
