Job Description
Overview
The Senior Project Manager develops detailed project plans and coordinates with each workstream to manage progress relative to project scope. The Senior Project Manager establishes consistent communication cadence with project sponsors and drives collaboration between the workstreams. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing status and updates tools and reporting, incorporates strategies and risk identification, drives resolution to all issues, proactively identifies and mitigates risks, and works through project close and all additional activities.

Planning
Partner with the leadership to facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
Work with subject matter experts to define tasks and required resources
Create project plans and schedules utilizing known best practices, risk assessments, and lessons learned
Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
Managing
Maintain project objectives
Delegate tasks to appropriate personnel
Track day-to-day project deliverables and resources
Lead meetings and set expectations for project team
Manage resources to achieve committed milestones, including vendor relationships
Foster development of team; reward achievements
Implement and manage change to meet project milestones
Maintain budget to expectations
Recognize opportunities for improvement in quality, speed, cost and processes
Rapidly identify and resolve issues and risks with viable solutions
Ensure quality of product or deliverable is aligned with set standards
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships
Report and escalate to management as needed
Communication
Create and deliver succinct well-formatted and articulated written communications
Discern meaning, thoughtful, and logical response during verbal conversations
Report project progress to key stakeholders including issues with solutions and metrics
Escalate challenges and obtains decisions in a timely way/manner
Create professional reports and present to executives as required
Document new best practices and lessons learned
Conduct project evaluations and assessment of results
Utilize, enhance and train processes, templates, policies, and tools

Qualifications
Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Bachelor’s degree required (any major)
PMP preferred
Government, Military, or significant business experience preferred
Project Management: proven track record of successfully driving multiple complex projects from definition to delivery

Advanced knowledge and effective utilization of:
Techniques –
problem statement development
requirements gathering and documentation
work breakdown structure creation
project planning facilitation
formal risk identification and management methodologies
capture, utilize and promote lessons learned
refinement and improvement of techniques
Processes –
product development lifecycles (software and hardware)
significant utilization of efficiency methodologies (Lean, PDCA, …)
creation of new or improved workflows
change control and governance elements
detailed transition from project end to customer
Tools –
project management tools (MS Project or equivalent)
dashboards and metrics fundamentals
process mapping (Visio)
roles and responsibilities matrix
Strong expertise in Microsoft Office 365 tools required
Business and Strategic Expertise: integrates knowledge of other disciplines into new strategies and concepts; creates and articulates credible visions of possibilities and outcomes; strong understanding of customer needs and experience; experience in achievement of profitability; understanding of interdependencies between operations and business needs

Colorado Salary Range
$130,000 – 160,000
