Nominated by Air Arabia Egypt and accepted by the ECAA as “Post Holder”, the “Manager – Aviation Security” manages the Air Arabia identified civil aviation security measures as per Egypt – NCASP and in adherence with corresponding ECAA regulations in the Foreign States. Shall ensure that all security measures are documented, maintained, implemented, communicated, assessed and complied with at all times.
Key Result Responsibilities
Defines and develops Air Arabia’s security P&P and related manuals to be validated by the CEO all in accordance with ECAA ECAR108 rules and regulations pertaining to this function and in accordance with company’s security objectives.
Partners with Stakeholders to: review and assess the company’s assets, facilities, equipment and activities to identify security needs and threats; develops security measures to eliminate risk and enhance security; implements approved measures and communicates accordingly.
Develops/ amends the “Aircraft Operator Security Program” for Air Arabia ensuring its compliance with the “National Aviation Security Program, ICAO Annex 17” and the other aviation authorities (ECAA) in the respective areas of operation. Maintains a current and up-to-date “AOSP” endorsed by Senior Management prior ECAA review and acceptance.
Evaluates, reviews, conducts inspections and tests to encourage internal security audit and quality control practices and to ensure the effectiveness of the “Aircraft Operator Security Program”. Advises on and manages all security systems in use by Air Arabia ensuring the cooperation of line managers.
Assists in the management, develops, and implements operations security standards and procedures in accordance to national/international aviation security legislations ensuring maximum security measures are taken to safeguard passengers, crew, staff and property.
Initiates and manages “Cultural Awareness” campaigns of security measures and standards and educates staff on how to implement those measures and adhere to corresponding regulations.

Initiates and manages additional security measures during periods of increased risk and/or for specific flights and routes as needed in all Egypt areas operated by Air Arabia.
Ensures an effective risk analysis, threat assessment and response capability; develops, publishes and records policies to counter the threats and risks in accordance with International Governmental requirements and advises managers on implementation accordingly.
Investigates criminal activities and malpractice whilst maintaining records of the same and of any un-authorized weapons or suspect explosive devices detected on Air Arabia aircraft or on property used by Air Arabia.
Represents Air Arabia at Airport Security Committee and/or deputizes a representative
Contributes to the employees’ training and development through designing and delivering training courses, presentations, and holding educational workshops on the security measures and practices to be adopted by employees.
Establishes/invests on effective relationships with Stakeholders, relevant authorities, to ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements and keeps abreast with industry’s development of security systems.
Coordinates with HR Department on all HR-related activities for the training team such as manpower, performance, attendance, leave, security clearance, etc.
Manages the selection and performance of the right manpower to deliver standardized and approved security measures for Air Arabia in Egypt and Foreign States; ensures the availability of competent security coordinators, to manage the security checks with focus on legality, quality, and efficiency.
Conducting quarterly Security review meeting with all post holders management team.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
Bachelor degree Aviation/Management or equivalent; alternately a diploma or certificate in the related field from a recognized university or institute combined with needed experience and exposure.
Must have attended appropriate Government/ ICAO Aviation Security Course for Security Managers.
Must have completed investigations/Interview techniques courses including techniques in detection of forged travel documents and passengers profiling.
Must obtain ECAA security central division interview, tests and obtaining National security approvals.
Must be in good medical condition and complying to ECAA ECAR108 requirements
Skilled report writing is required to ensure that complex reports are properly and clearly described.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Very good in English and Arabic Languages.
7+ years’ of experience in the Aviation/Airlines industry, 5 years of which in Aviation Security in a similar capacity; 3 years at least in the training field is required for this role.
A sound knowledge of government Immigration Acts, Police & Criminal Evidence Acts.
Has extensive exposure on Civil Aviation Authorities’ regulations of ECAA pertaining to the Aviation Security , policies, procedures, manuals, etc.
Good exposure on investigation procedures.
A Good knowledge and exposure on airline and Flight Operations, SGHA contracting formalities and standard regulations; good understanding of Flight crew thought process.
Good knowledge and working exposure to Quality Assurance /Safety/Internal & External Audit functions.
Experienced in designing, implementing, and monitoring security policies, procedures and operating manuals.
Demonstrates high accuracy and attention to both results and details.
Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying pitfalls and recommending cost-effective solutions.
Possesses effective problem solving and decision making skills.
