Job Description
We are looking for a Training Specialist- HSE who will be responsible for end to end learning process in HSE area for Engineers, Technicians, Operators in oil & gas sector that includes Design of curriculum, arrange/conduct class room & practical training, monitor the progress and conduction of tests & issuing certification.
Job Purpose:
To develop and implement specialized learning and development programs in area of Health Safety and Environment specific to Oil & Gas sector aimed at improving individual and organizational performance.
Principal Accountabilities/Main Duties:
1. Develop and execute HSE training programs with specific focus on oil & gas sectors operational risk in order to create awareness and promote a safe working environment.
2. Deliver training courses as per HSE Training Plan for Graduate Engineer Trainees and Operator/Technician trainees in consultation with the HSE department and technical departments in line with the competency requirements to develop companys staff.
3. Analyze & recommend HSE training for Professionals/Engineers working in technical department in consultation with departmental manager & HSE Department to upgrade knowledge & skills.
4. Coordinate with international HSE training providers and certification agencies to organize & effectively conduction of certification programs for the employees.
5. Plan, format and conduct HSE training courses and refresher courses to relevant Company personnel on operational procedures such as personal safety equipment, toxic and hazardous substances, permit to work, crane operation, risk assessments and accident investigations etc.
6. Coordinate with line departments for training schedules/dates and training course feedback and also coordinate with head of safety/Loss Prevention Officers in the scheduling and identification of training programs.
7. Develop & Maintain and update all HSE training equipment/aids and literature (manuals/documents, videos, posters etc.) to ensure effective conduction of HSE training programs.
8. Research & recommend relevant HSE field developments and provide latest HSE training solutions to Head of the Learning to include in future HSE training courses.
9. Arrange subject matter expert in Health/Safety/Environment from industry/training providers on HSE subjects for the class room training.
10. Manage and conduct HSE compliance training programs for the Oil & Gas Sector and maintains data.
11. Conducts HSE training needs analysis to identify and evaluate training requirements for the company.
Desired Profile
B.Sc. Degree or equivalent in Engineering / Safety with HSE related trainings including NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
10 years varied experience in HSE within the Oil & Gas industry/ consulting organisation/university with at least 5 years of experience HSE training.
Strong background in instructing HSE related training courses such as but not limited to: H2S /HSE awareness/ Confined space entry/ Permit to Work/ First Aid/ Chemical handling/ Risk Assessments/ Fire Watch/ basic Fire Fighting/ Defensive Driving/ Gas Testing/ Lifting Operations/working on heights.
Extensive working knowledge in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training plans, curricula, and methodology.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and the ability to deliver effective training programs.
Computer literate.
Excellent presentation skills.
Works well in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment.
