Department Profile:
Marketing and Communications Directorate invites applications for the position of Digital Media Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Digital Media Specialist must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Marketing and Communications Directorate in fully implementing the University’s mission and vision.

Duties & Responsibilities:
This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will enhance, drive and manage all internal and external digital communications within and outside the organization.
The successful candidate will create online media strategy and plan and oversee the development and maintenance of UDST’S web presence. The successful candidate maintain a full understanding of digital media topics, technology and functionality including but not limited to Social Media and Email.
The candidate will serve as UDST’s “online media expert,” remain updated with emerging trends, opportunities, and best practices and regularly updater colleagues and management on these trends making recommendations for new activities.
The successful candidate will create advertising campaigns for social media platforms including videos and monitoring day-to-day performance of those campaigns and the budgets for each campaign and generate, edit, publish and share daily content.
The successful candidate will liaise with all business units to share information and identify up-to-date information and accomplishments that can be communicated to strengthen brand positioning of UDST.
Responsibilities also include to monitor external digital news reports and escalate complex issues or negative press to the Manager and analyze and track the UDST’s website and other social media application user statistics and responses to external media to identify the trends of various marketing initiatives and provide feedback to the Manager.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications required
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Communications, or related field
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English language is required
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is required

Other Required Skills:
Professional and friendly nature and a proactive attitude to work is required, good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively, is essential. Analytical thinking and problem solving is required. The candidate should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English language is required and Arabic is required.
