INNOVATION PROJECT MANAGER – The Emirates Group , UAE

Job Purpose
Drive and manage business innovation to ensure the creation of a sustainable, progressive business environment, supportive of innovation and advancement in line with the one dnata business strategic goals and to enable dnata to be a leader.
Lead, coordinate and support departmental and/or cross-functional teams, focused on identifying and delivering new or upgrading existing products/services thus leading to increased revenue and long term business sustainability.

Job Outline:
Plan:
– Plans and executes all innovation lifecycle activities including idea creation and prioritization, business case creation, prototype/validation, securing funding, marketing and launch of MVP and all PMO related activities.
– Ensures innovation strategy remains aligned to business strategy by working closely with the line and leadership team.
– Develops innovation process framework, measurement methodology and KPIs for continuous measurement of innovation success. Agrees, maintains and periodically evaluates innovation framework and methodology. Develops and implements innovation reporting framework in the business.
– Defines and implements engagement model for working with external incubators, accelerators and start-ups.

Lead:
– Works in collaboration with other line project managers to own and drive end to end Innovation processes across all of dAO for UAE.
– Builds and maintains relationships with customers and ensures that their needs are understood and worked upon to meet the SLAs and enhance customer satisfaction
– Leads/supports creation of business case and financial analysis to enable no/go decisions of all innovation concepts
– Provides mentoring on innovation implementation best practice and promote knowledge sharing to line management and other innovation stakeholders and team members.
– Leads participation for dnata UAE in all internal/external innovation initiatives.
– Defines and manages innovation risk assessment, performs a continuous assessment of risks and issues on approved innovation initiatives and addresses/mitigates them to minimise impact by ensuring concepts are delivered within the agreed parameters and achieve the agreed benefits.
– Addresses major `show stopper’ risks and issues through timely and accurate reporting and senior management engagement, instigating re-planning, recovery or termination where necessary.
– Provides expertise in negotiating appropriate contract terms/reviewing contracts before signature to ensure deliverables and commitments are aligned to our standards.
– Leverages and builds synergies across all departments under one dnata to maximize productivity and provide the best opportunities for success. Ensures that all innovation project team members are working towards a common goal with a common purpose.
– Provides weekly status updates to all stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
– Monitors the financial performance of projects against budgets

Execute:
– Facilitates 3-5 idea generation/ problem identification by working with key stakeholders and experts (both internal & external).
– Provides mentorship to line to empower business growth, profitability and productivity through innovation.
– Collaborates with internal functions (e.g. Innovation lab,) and external experts to identify innovation areas/opportunities in/out the industry (i.e. logistics and transportation industry) to be included in annual innovation plan.
– Delivers projects/programs (non-innovation) to scope, time and costs. Initiates and manages projects through all stages to ensure that their progress, quality and the outputs in key result areas are consistent with the scope and targets in the project charter.
– Drives business benefits realisation and return investment by ensuring all aspects of business change and transformation relating to assigned initiatives are effectively identified, planned and managed by or on behalf of the relevant stakeholder throughout the lifecycle.
– Ensures compliance to all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls across the department, though all innovations to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
Qualifications & Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Management
Experience:
– 8-10 years of experience in Commercial/Sales, IT, Consulting, Business Development, Project Management , change management

Knowledge/Skills:
– Able to manage multiple projects and has the ability to manage long-term projects which impact various functional areas in dnata.
– Able to develop and lead implementation and integration of cross functional projects.
– Assembles and leads diverse and cross-functional teams, ensuring maximum effective resource utilization.
– Able to successfully manage substantial project budgets and report progress to executive management.
– Extensive experience in business consulting and new business development.
– Extensive experience in Lean Six Sigma.
– Extensive experience in development of products and services.
– Experience solving complex problems.
– Extensive experience influencing others at different levels (Exec, Management, Frontline, 3rd parties).
– Extensive experience designing, planning and delivering process & technology solutions that enable business change/transformation.
– Expert knowledge in IT applications development, architecture, cloud and distributed computing.
– Excellent business acumen and communication skills, able to effectively present information to an individual or group, both written and verbally.
– Extensive experience of project management methodologies and practices.
– Demonstrable exposure to: Vendor Management, Change Management implementation & planning, Business analysis.
– Budget and Cost Control Knowledge.
– Management Skills.
– Safety Awareness.
