About Your Job:
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for Aircraft Communications and Datalink of Qatar Airways Fleet. You will ensure the aircraft operations is conducted in a safe and economical manner satisfying all related regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
Your scope of work includes implementation of Qatar Airways Datalink projects, follow-up on worldwide Datalink and Surveillance mandates, point of contact with DSPs and Manufacturers, internetworking Datalink Server with QTR’s peripheral systems, assisting in the design of QTR’s systems and the interface to the ground host, applying for authorization and operational Approval from national authorities, troubleshooting and investigating Airborne and ground Datalink Systems’ issues and transmission failures, DSP Service Interruption follow-up, Liaising and Supporting Avionics Engineering in Datalink related matters, in addition to other related tasks.
You are expected to establish the department objectives and priorities to align with and support the Manager Flight Operations Engineering in technical projects
About You:
To be successful in this role you must have a Bachelor of Engineering – Aeronautical / Aerospace / Mechanical or alternatively Electronic Engineering. A minimum of 5 years datalink and/or Flight Operations Engineering experience within an airline operations environment is highly preferable.
Knowledge of the following fundamentals is a must:-
• ARINC Specifications.
• Aircraft Avionics Systems (Boeing and Airbus).
• Ground Network Infrastructure.
• End-to-End connectivity & Solutions.
Knowledge of either of the following tools is recommended:-
• Honeywell’s ATSU ART & AIRSIM (Classical Airbus).
• Honeywell’s GBST (B777 and B787).
• Rockwell Collins GSE Tool (A350 and A380)
You should also be professionally knowledgeable about Aircraft and Airline operations with excellent IT skills including Light programming. Excellent communication and analytical skills with project management experience and the ability to deliver tasks within tight deadlines is very much needed in this role.
