Application Platform Owner Manager – Qatar Airways , Doha, Qatar

About the role
We are hiring for your skills to drive the digital direct revenue growth through developing a digital application platform that enables the delivery and operation of best-in-class sales and self-servicing tools and products. Provide strategic leadership for the long term vision and architecture of the platform that will integrate a variety of web and consumer mobile products with specific focus on performance and scalability. Provide strategic leadership for the capabilities of the Amadeus Digital Experience suite/ Partners’ provided tools and solutions to give QR/ QR partners’ access to content, data and processes that accelerate experimentation and innovation at the forefront of travel.

Other operational duties would include:
Define an application platform feature and architecture strategy to support digital commerce goals and vision for transactional applications by defining and utilizing the capabilities of the Amadeus Digital Experience suite. .
Develop and maintain a platform roadmap to achieve digital product goals and remove blockers.
Research and regularly evaluate available airline shopping and booking solution capabilities and performance to identify potential new platform capabilities to add value for our customers.
Construct business cases for proposed new digital technology implementations to understand required investment, expected gain and define opportunities by leveraging the capabilities of the Amadeus Digital Experience Products..
Seek feedback on customer experience to understand how the platform can enable to fulfil customer needs.
Manage dependencies with other front- and back-end systems by engaging with technical architects and developers.
Lead the procurement and implementation of new technologies and shopping/booking application service providers by defining technical evaluation criteria and scoping required implementation work.
Communicate clearly and accurately on existing and upcoming platform capabilities and limitations.
Analyse platform performance and operations to ensure platform health and scalability.
Define fulfilment and automation failure scenarios and implement recovery processes to increase platform resilience.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications
About You
We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Digital Commerce & Service Experiences Team.
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
6+ years of job-related experience
In depth understanding of the capabilities of the Amadeus Digital Experience suite is essential
In depth understanding of airline sales, marketing and distribution mechanisms
Solid knowledge of core airline systems and applications focus on managing/directing software development projects.
Hands on experience with online shopping and booking engines preferably in the travel industry.
Understand technology platform commercial models and service delivery.
Estimating business impact of platform and architecture changes.
Prioritizing complex changes and issues.
Previous experience in managing digital product(s) preferably in the travel industry.
Formal training and certification on airline reservation systems.
Understanding and experience in agile product development.
