Government and Immigration Specialist, College of the North Atlantic – Qatar, Doha

This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will provide efficient government related services to CNA-Q employees and their eligible dependents by actively engaging with government agencies to handle matters such as visa issuance, residency permits, medical clearance and other required documentation. Provides assistance to the recruitment team and new hires for travel booking and assigns work to the Government and Immigration Coordinators.

Candidates should have an outstanding record of industry experience in Immigration or related field, and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Government and Immigration Specialist. The successful candidate will process requests for permanent visa / residency permit for candidates / employees and his/her family, and notify the relevant stakeholders of the approval or the reasons for rejection and handle and keep track of employee records and visas.

The incumbent will process requests for visit visas for candidates, employees and their families and notify requesting Departments of the approval or rejection and handle the processing of sponsorship transfers, renewal of official permits, requisitions for employment visas and health checks, and notify the requesting Department of the decision.

The incumbent will handle the processing of exit and re-entry permits for all employees across the College and the processing of repatriation and clearance requests as a result of employee separation from the College.

The incumbent will ensure that all files and documents are completed in a timely and accurate manner and handle employee security clearance requests associated with the required government authorities in Qatar.

The incumbent will follow up on all documents and files submitted with the relevant government entities, and provide status reports to requesting Department or school as needed and support in keeping track of employees’ and visitors’ passports, residencies, visas validity and arrange with the employees and other concerned parties for their renewal / extension.

Responsibilities also include to maintain strong relationships and continuous communication with regulatory authorities, government officials, and policy makers to enhance CNA-Q’s network and advocacy capabilities.

The Government and Immigration Specialist will assign tasks to the Government and Immigration Coordinators and track the status of each request to ensure compliance with regulations and legal requirements.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:

Bachelor Degree is required in Business Administration, or other related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Government Services or related field

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English is required

Fluency in Arabic language is preferred

Other Required Skills:

Enthusiastic and ambitious team player with a high standard with a proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential. The ability to think analytically and solve problems is required. Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organisations is required. Knowledge of Labour Law and Legal Compliance is required. Knowledge of HR Administration and Relations is required. A Commitment to ongoing training and continuous professional development is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate exemplary communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English language is required.
